Give way to 0.1.4.4.1!!

Hey there, how're you?

Welcome to a minor update, the "Failed Save Data" Update.

Well, first of all...

  • Sleeping is now a thing.
  • Eating is now a thing.
  • Energy, Joy, Hygiene and Hunger cannot go below 0 and over 100.
  • Speed mode has been added.
  • Saving was supposed to be a thing but it isn't.
  • Vibration is supposed to be a thing only for Google Chrome on Android. (Downloadable version)
  • Burglars, eventually.
  • Saving system, eventually.
  • Kitchen UI, coming soon.
  • Actual art assets for Speed Mode, Bed, Sleeping Bearfox, Adult Bearfox and UI buttons, coming soon.
  • Having an own original bearfox, eventually.

Now, onto the...

= FAILED SAVE SYSTEM =

Okay, so, as everyone of you knows, when entering the game, all parameters (Joy, Hunger, Higiene, Time and Energy) get defaulted to 100 or 0, that's because there's not a way yet to save game data and have it persist. So... I began working.

A system that'd always save your game data in local storage and retrieve it every time you'd play even after closing the game. And I had made it. It was working.

Or at least... I thought it was.

Turns out it doesn't actually save perpetually, just as  long as the tab is open, then it gets flushed back to 0.

I thought of so many ways to have it worked but still haven't figured out a way to do so. Every other way of saving is too complex for me as a non-programmer. Anyway, that's got me thinking...

Should I implement a system where you get a downloaded version of your save data, or... instead start working on a new version of the game that's actually an APK and has a much simpler way of saving data?

This could make way to the

= HAVING AN OWN ORIGINAL BEARFOX =

Which would get stored alongside your save data, having a different head, body type, personality and colors, name for the bearfox and name for the owner so, yeah, that.

What do ya think?

Oh yeah, something I forgot to talk about is the

= S P E E D  MODE =

An issue I've found is, most players don't stick around for long as they're unable or too busy to stay in the game, so, to combat this, I've added a Speed Mode, which will make

  •  the clock go faster
  • the bearfox growing every minute instead of every four
  • tapping the egg will make it grow ever so slightly every time
  • tapping the bearfox cub will NOT make it grow (don't poke him)

Only thing to turn it on is to click on the mouse in the bedroom, a spin-dashing sound will tell you it's on, a weird error sound will tell you it's off. Try it.
